Terms and refunds.

Short version: pay once, get Kinema 1.x on 2 Macs, and get your money back any time before launch.

Who sells Kinema

Kinema is made by IDEXA, a brand owned and operated by Nafish Ahmed, an individual developer in Bengaluru, India. Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record: they take the payment, charge any sales tax or VAT, issue the receipt and handle refunds. Their buyer terms apply to the payment itself.

This page is the short version. The full Kinema terms and IDEXA's refund and delivery policies are on idexa.app; they say the same.

What you buy

A founding licence costs $69 (USD, plus tax where it applies), paid once. It is a digital software licence; nothing is shipped. It includes:

  • Kinema 1.0 and every 1.x update.
  • Use on up to 2 Macs that you use yourself.
  • Beta access from December 2026.

Kinema needs a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later), macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Check this before you order; it does not run on Windows or iPad.

Pre-order and delivery

Kinema is in development. When you pre-order, you are paying now for a licence that is delivered later. You will receive your licence key and a download link by email: beta builds from December 2026 and version 1.0 by 31 January 2027.

Refunds

  • Before launch: ask at any time for a full refund, no reason needed.
  • If it is late: if version 1.0 is not out by 31 January 2027, every pre-order is refunded in full automatically. You do not need to ask.
  • After launch: a full refund within 14 days of 1.0's release or of your purchase, whichever is later.

To ask for a refund, reply to your order receipt or write to us. Refunds go back to the original payment method.

Using the licence

The licence is for you, including in your professional practice. A clinic needs one licence for each person who uses Kinema. Please do not share or resell your licence key. Activating it connects to the internet once; after that Kinema works offline. A 14-day trial lets you try Kinema before you buy.

What Kinema is not

Kinema is a tool for measuring and documenting movement on video. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or recommend treatment. How accurate a measurement is depends on the video and on where you place the points; clinical judgement stays with you.

Changes

If these terms change, the version that applied when you bought is the one that applies to your order.
